Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal summoned by ED in liquor policy case | India News

NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday summoned Delhi chief minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam case.
The agency has asked Kejriwal to appear before it on December 21.
In November too, EDhad summoned the Delhi chief minister in connection with the case. However, Kejriwal had skipped the summons, saying that he has to travel for political campaigning.
The probe agency had told the Supreme Court earlier that it wanted to investigate AAP as a beneficiary of the alleged bribes, the “proceeds of crime” in ED’s parlance.
The ED had made the submission after the court asked why it had not made AAP an accused in the case despite claiming that the bribes earned from allegedly favouring a cartel of liquor dealers were used to fund the Kejriwal-led party’s election campaign in Goa.
It has already arrested AAP leaders like Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh for their alleged involvement in the case.
