Sanders: I hope Israel gets rid of Netanyahu

US Senator Bernie Sanders criticized the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he hopes to be removed from office.

Speaking to CNN, Sanders considered, “This is a terribly complex issue, You have a right-wing government in Israel, which is a racist government. But the good news is that in the latest opinion poll, only 18% of the people of Israel want Netanyahu to remain in office. I hope that “Get rid of him. I hope they form a government that understands the seriousness of the crisis.”

He stressed the need to prevent the killing of civilians in the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas, reiterating his call for Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza, saying that there must be “a better way to eliminate Hamas than killing thousands of men, women and children.”

He believed that the Netanyahu government “is trying to make it impossible to achieve a two-state solution” in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that  the death toll had risen to 9,770, including 4,800 children and 2,550 women , noting that 70% of the dead and wounded from the Israeli bombing on Gaza were women and children.

On the Israeli side, more than 1,400 people were killed, including hundreds of soldiers, in addition to about 240 hostages.
